Download Splunk tutorialdata .zip
Click the Add Data button
Click the Upload button
Select the tutorialdata.zip from the Downloads folder
At the top click the Next button
Select Segment in path and enter Segment number as 1
Click Review button
Click the Submit button
Click the Start Searching button
Run the following search
sourcetype=access_* status=200 action=purchase | top categoryId
Click the Visualization tab
Select Save As and New Dashboard
Dashboard Title as Buttercup Games - Purchases. Description as Reports on Buttercup Games purchases data. Select Classic Dashboards. Panel Title Top Purchases by Category. Click Save to Dashboard button and then View Dashboard button.
